The Eternal Empire

Scope

The motivation behind building The Eternal Empire

This world is my playground! I built it for myself, inspired by my own artwork, and guess what? It became the setting for two novels, which have sold quite well and received good reviews.  In the future, hopefully the near future, there will also be an assortment of short stories set here.

The goal of the project

What do I want out of this? Um, gee. Let me think about this a sec.  How in the name of whatever you think is holy could I not bring the Eternal Empire to this lovely playground called WorldAnvil? It is one of my favorite worlds. I enjoy the hell out of playing in it. And this place is giving me a chance to play, and develop, and gleefully create more content for my dearly beloved playground. I want to share my worlds and draw people in, just like I get drawn in. I want to share the adventure!

The Eternal Empire's Unique Selling point

This is a world where Rome never fell, and magic is integrated with technology. It's an alternate history/universe, and it has dragons. Not to mention aliens, demons, and some really quirky humans.

Theme

Genre

Genre... oh, genre. To quote a friend, single genres are for amateurs. The novels set in the Eternal Empire are fantasy/scifi/adventure/romance. See what I mean?   The technology available to most citizens of the Empire is quite advanced, fully integrated with magic. That is not necessarily the case for the Borderlands, where humans have had a much more difficult time surviving.  Space travel is made possible by magic. It is easy within the Empire, not so easy outside it, and all facilitated by the devices known as D-gates.

Reader Experience

How does the world feel... it gives me a sense of wonder mixed with adventure. Whether or not that feel comes through to readers, though, is not for me to say.
