The Paw Isles

The Paw Isles are a set of eight islands located in the Enther Channel. Though under the control of the Kingdom, they do self govern their own affairs under a Great Lord. The Paw Isles are expected to answer any call to arms by The Royal Council but due to their smaller population and location have rarely been expected to carry out the call. The native peoples to the Isles, known as the Ashmun, were a peaceful folk dating their history back to The Old Kingdoms. Their insignificance and low numbers meant they were generally unnoticed by the Ancient Entherians and were all but untouched. It was not until Entherites (The result of cross breeding between humans and Ancient Entherians) fled to the then named Ashsuma isles that the war was brought to them and the newly formed Kingdom of Enther claimed them, renaming them the Paw Isles and integrating their language and customs into the isles. Over the centuries the Kingdom of Oshya has laid claim to the isles, as well as in more recent times the Imperial Empire has also laid claim. In around 1085, an Imperial force occupied the largest isle on the Paws, but were swiftly pushed back by the The Royal Army of Enther. After centuries of being occupied by the enthrians, much of the culture now foes unpractised, though some do still try keep the old ways.
