The family is appointed by the King or Queen of Enther. This title can be gained through hereditary ways, but is not exclusive.

Duties

Great Lord's have many responsibilities. these include:

Collecting taxes on behalf of the Crown from their lands.

Keeping the peace and upholding the law. Usually dealing with server crimes and leaving lesser ones to the local lords.

History

Great Lord is the title given to the Lords who rule over one of the Four Great Cities. These cities are the four largest cities in Enther, besides Montheus, and are responsible for governing their lands to keep the laws of the kingdom.
Great Lords are not entitled to their title and on some occasions, a Great Lord has been stripped of their title and lands and awarded to another.
