The Silent Brother Edrick Talworthy (a.k.a. Ed)
Edrick Talworthy was a curious child, blessed with the sharpest of minds and a memory that could stand the test of time. But as he grew older, he was exposed to a darker side of the world- one filled with manipulation and greed. He watched helplessly as darkness descended upon the land, leaving only despair in its wake.
Edrick trained tirelessly, pushing himself to the limit in order to make sure he was ready for battle. But no matter how much he prepared, it still wasn’t enough. When the portal opened and the end of their world loomed near, there was a sadness in his heart. Edrick stepped through, fearing that this may not be enough to save these people from themselves, knowing they could end up destroying another world in their wake. Yet, a part of him wanted to believe there was a way and he could fight until the bitter end.
With a heavy heart, he took on the monumental responsibility of restoring his family’s legacy. Though he felt a deep sense of pride in taking up the mantel of leading the Presspira Griphons, he also feared that their existence would be exposed to the outside world. He dedicated himself to rebuilding and protecting his people. Although they had once been a powerful force, their numbers had dwindled in this new world. He strove to rebuild them, but at the same time desperately tried to keep their existence hidden from outsiders. It was an ever-present worry that he never allowed himself to forget.
Years later, Edrick established The Whispers to keep track of the external world while he stayed put to learn all he could. He worked hard and studied vigorously so he could monitor events to stop another displacement or prevent life from going extinct.
As Edrick retreated further and further into himself, his once lively home felt bare. He still had a deep connection to those amongst the Pesspira Griphons, but he felt the need to stand at a distance, guiding them from afar. He didn't know whether it was for their protection or his own.
