Valodred
A Northern Sword Coast family that hold their lands through a Free Lordship. The Valodred's sided with the Eorl of Swans during the Struggles but were able to regain their lands through the Widow's Bargain. Since that time, they have not shown any inclination or ambition towards further unrest. While they have been Sword-Lords for centuries, their founding date extends to when they were placed on the rolls of the Kingdom in a subtle dig at their history.
History
The Valodred family has ruled in these parts since before the coming of the Rhonish banners. The family fought against the Raven Queen's forces when she turned her eyes towards this region. They were rebels for a time until they accepted peace and bent the knee in -103 BL after serving alongside Rhone in the Giantswar. Due to their service, they received their own hold and lands back. Since that time, until the departure of Queen Ellavaine, the Valodreds were loyal vassals of the throne.
During the Struggles, the Valodred family took the side of the rebel Eorl of Swans in attempting to carve out more territory. As opposition mounted against the family, they were forced to flee and seek sanctuary in Swans. It was there that Toral Valodred fought against several raids across the channel from the Eorl of Swords.
