Vassal Knights | Eorl of Eventide

A Vassal of the Eorldom of Eventide. The MIREND family is an offshoot of an old RHUANI lineage and takes great pride in their history. Like many families that place a heavy emphasis on history and long-past achievements that celebrate the high points of their family’s political lifespan, the MIREND line has quietly faded over over the past ninety years. There has been no great calamity but a slow drain on resources and coffers as earlier generations continued to live a lifestyle that was no longer within reach. The MIREND family has been reduced to only two small fiefs—a manor and hamlet—for the past forty years.

The current Lord, DOERATH MIREND, is a sharp-eyed and swift-armed knight that has done little more than halt the decay of the family’s resources. He heels to the call of EVENTIDE, the family’s Rhuani honor-bonds allow nothing else, and impresses those who take notice of being very aware and informed of many things in the South and Sword Coast. He is considered a very competent swordsman and warrior though he bore little love for the tourney and so many are ignorant of his reputed prowess.

His sister, ORELLA KOLAERE, is the wife of LORD KOLAERE in service to the Eorl of Swords.

LORD DOERATH’s wife passed away of the Winterwind fever that swept through the South in the late 40’s. But prior to that, she gave birth to three children of which two have survived to their teen years. The eldest and acknowledge Mirend heir is GELAS MIREND—who is now in his 3rd year of squiring as one of two such teens in the service of LORD KOLAERE. His second child-a daughter- IENOSA MIREND was born in 43 ET and is approaching the age of courtship. In 59 ET, she debuted at the Summer Circuit along with the other debutantes and maidens of noble blood.

Lastly, LORD DOERATH had also caused a faint stir in the upbringing of his children—in that he took in an illegitimate child of ‘his cousin’. Few credit that tale with any credence and yet LORD DOERATH raised the young man, CERON OF CUTHRA, without the benefit of the family name although he did so alongside the Lord’s legitimate children. It is unknown who the mother is or even if the gossip is true that the CERON is the Lord’s baseborn son though few doubt it or speak of it in earshot of LORD DOERATH. Squire CERON has just entered his knight-training and service in the household of SER AUGAIN CEDARUS in the Eorldom of the Dawn.
