The LANYE family are not ennobled but manorfolk attached to the household of the DOWAGER THEOWYN. As such, members of the family have become quite close to the Dowager and the younger generation has grown up alongside her daughter, Eorith Brynagar. The oldest daughter, ERIA, has been given a court position as a handmaid to EORITH while the eldest son, RUVYN, has been squired with SER BAEL, a Sworn Knight of Swords.

Their inclusion at court has been mixed with some seeing them as reaching above their station and/or taking advantage of the Dowager. Others see them as faithful retainers that have been rewarded for their service and loyalty.
