Euphorium Mushroom
Euphorium Mushrooms are a type of psychedelic mushroom that grows in the forest floors of Psycalia. They are a surreal mix of white, lavander, taffy, bubblegum, fucia and light blue. They have hemispherical caps that are covered in pores with fairly thick stems.
Basic Information
Anatomy
It takes the form of a wide stemed mushroom with a hemispherical cap. It contains thousands of spores on this cap.
Biological Traits
Euphorium Mushrooms are known best for a few things, being a type of psychedelic mushroom, spraying out their spores around a decent range, and growing on the backs of Psychocybin Deer. The Euphorium Mushrooms that grow on the back's of Psychocybin Deer instead of on the forest floor will live as long as their host does unless they are damaged or picked.
Genetics and Reproduction
Euphorium Mushrooms reproduce by bursting out spores from theri caps, which then grow depending on where they land, as long as their not too close to the parent.
Growth Rate & Stages
It takes around 2 months for a spore to grow into a full fledged Euphorium Mushroom.
Ecology and Habitats
Euphorium Mushrooms grow on the forest floors of Psycalia, often near lakes or other moist, shady parts of the forest.
Dietary Needs and Habits
It feeds off dead plant matter, mostly fallen and rotting leaves.
Biological Cycle
It grows most during the summer due to the hot temperatures and humidity. During Fall, it continues to grow, albeit, at a slowed rate. During the Winter, they barely grow/don't grow, and during the spring, the growing speeds up until it reaches it's peak in the summer.
Additional Information
Domestication
When they started to grow on Psychocybin Deer, they evolved to spray their spores out farther then normal, as to help them reach an attacker if the host was ever attacked.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Many use Euphorium Mushrooms to trip and explore their own minds, some Psychocybin Deer even give out their own Euphorium Mushrooms for this purpose. Some may even eat their own mushrooms.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Near the rivers/lakes of forest floors, since they supply the most food from fallen leaves or dying moss as well as the moisture they need to grow and thrive.
Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
Euphorium Mushrooms often grow on the backs of Psychocybin Deer because it gives them food, water and shelter, it greatly extends their lives as well, as some only die after their host does, and some live even past that due to the fact that the corpse acts as a food source.
