Fighter's Guild
The Fighter's Guild is an Imperial Institution which spans the length and breadth of the Empire's realms. It is a hierarchical organisation dedicated to the provision of martial services to those with the coin to pay.
The guild is managed by a number of Masters each responsible for a given Chapter and the Guild Halls within it. Beyond the level of the individual Chapter - The Fighter's Guild is an incredibly decentralized institution and each Master manages their district semi-autonomously, holding the Imperial Charter for the territory directly. One way to envision the institution is as a series of mercenary guilds who gained enough wealth and power to apply for an Imperial Charter over the region.
At the smallest scale, each Guild Hall is managed by a Guild Steward - responsible for bringing on new associates and managing the financial interests of the Guild in the local community. The size of the Guild Hall will tend to determine the level of services provided and quality of goods sold.
The guild nominally holds exclusive imperial charters for contracting martial services. But this legal monopoly has suffered in the wake of Imperial decline. The increasing proliferation of mercenary companies and private militaries now directly compete with the Fighter's Guild for relevance.
It's members provide services to local elites for a fee including:
- Protection
- Escort
- Enforcement
They also engage in the sale of goods such as:
- Weapons
- Armour
- Repair Tools
