Kingdom of Bakatyeong

The Kingdom of Bakatyeong was a peripheral power that succeeded the Chiefdom of Yeongwan, which fell in 306 BC. Since not all lands were conquered, the eldest son of the last ruler of Yeongwan was able to unite a number of tribes into a confederation of sort, and declared himself king. Despite grand plans to reconquer the lost lands, Bakatyeong was unable to muster the ability to do so. The lands it controlled fluctuated constantly, but generally shrank. Conflicts between Jungyu and Guwaaru became common, and reached a head in 117 BC, when its southern provinces left the state. By 50 BC, it had lost even more land to the Wanyun of Bailan, though it still remained. The pitiful state was finally put out of its misery in 18 SC when the future Wanyun of Saewan defeated the nation in battle. Although not all lands of Bakatyeong were taken over by Saewan, the claimant to the throne only lasted 3 years before his nation fell apart entirely and split into its remaining constituent tribes. The [tbd] claim descendence from this kingdom, but nobody cares.
