Ibairon
History
The city-state of Ibairon, or as it styles itself, The Grand Kingdom of Shirion, is a rump state of the latter. During the Shirion Civil War, the forces of the reigning monarch were pushed back to the capital of the empire itself. However, due to the fortifications present around the city, the monarchy's enemies were unable to capture the city itself. The fortifications of the besiegers have become known as Luckless Line as throughout the civil war it was taken over by multiple parties, none of which had much success in holding them. Near the end of the war, the monarchy's forces made one last concerted effort to take back the lands, and were unable to advance far, though they did manage to capture the Line itself, but not much beyond that. This failure to reconquer lands was mainly due to the fact that Ibairon has gone through a substantial economic shift due to the civil war. Only remaining in control of a few scattered agricultural areas, the food and supply situation of the nation remains too poor to support any sort of drawn-out offensive. In order to combat food shortages, the king has decreed that all surplus food must be given to the central government to be distributed. New agricultural lands are being developed at a breakneck pace to solve the food shortages, but up to the current day the situation remains grim.
