Grand Principality of Uzkhiviych

The Grand Principality of Uzkhiviych is one of the major secessor nations to be birthed from the collapse of the Relvetsian Empire during the founding of the Empire of Åavens Relvets. As a Chernoyetsian nation, the people of the region had been aggressively resisting the unified Relvetsian culture pushed by the Empire, and therefore seized the chance to declare an independent state. The ruling Prince of Uzkhiviych was deposed and imprisoned in 1982, and a new prince, Danil Cheryanovskiy was elected. His first decree was to elevate the Principality to a Grand Principality, to reflect its new sovereign status and to spite the pretenders to the Relvetsian throne. In the years since, Cheryanovskiy has tried to build a pan-Chernoyetsian identity, but has been thwarted by regional Hetmanates, who have been acting as warlords ever since the Empire collapsed. He has also had to contend with the fact that his position is elective, and that establishing a dynasty may not be possible. Therefore he has tried to work to weaken the elecotral monarchy first put in place by the nobility, which he agreed to during his coronation. This struggle has largely defined the early years of Uzkhiviych.
However, such things haven't stopped them from attempting to unite the Chernoyetsian people. The invasion of Vorgovyl, an early campaign, went well until forces of the Grand Principality of Voncherynol sent troops to the region and managed to repel them from the capital of Vorgovyl. Although the conquest of most of Vorgovyl was a massive victory, the failure to finish off the Voivode left Uzkhiviych with a thorn in their side, and one which could prove fatal if Voncherynol wins the civil war.
