Ǎgèzi Dairén

The Ǎgèzi Dairén are a culture of halflings who have long lived in western Hymar, and are thus highly integrated into Hymari life. For the most part they follow the Hymarian Pantheon with only a few differences from the human-led pantheon. They also form an important link between the various Hymari groups as well as the dwarves and humans who inhabit the highland plateaus. There initial settlement into the lightly-populated hills propelled inter-regional trade into the forefront and as often heralded as the start of the legendary silk road. To this day, their trade contacts extend to elves, gnomes, and even the minotaurs, all seeking the bazaars of the hills from which they ply wares of a host of different cultures and races.

Migration of halflings to Ærellion began as early as the first century SC; with their kingdoms already beginning to see strain from cyclops invasions emigration pressures were high- although during this period most halflings preferred to go to Telgren. However, after the fall of the Empire of Oleandron most of the support for Telgrenese migration began to fade, and Halflings increasingly chose Ærellion. Immigration to Ærellion really kicked off during the period of 800-1200 SC as their growing population had nowhere to go. Gnomes were happy to take on many halflings as indentured servants and eventually settle them where they pleased as their contracts ended. Thus, the ports of Hymar became points where many halflings gathered. As generations passed, they became more and more integrated, and eventually the Hymari Panetheon became their main religion. The halfling diaspora would also spread to the eastern hills, settling regions which had previously been under the control of the Phyosang, a Khaid'bon ethnic group.
