Session 5: The Museum of Magical History

General Summary

Day 8

• Wok asked to keep a utensil from My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's kitchen, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher tried to flirt with him. Dew went to take a shower, and, Selakiir went outside. While they were all in different parts of the house, they heard the same alarm from earlier that morning, but it turned off again without any of them turning it off.
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher and Wok went upstairs to look, My Stage Name is Dreamcather's mom's drawer was open. He immediately assumed it was Selakiir, and opened the window to chastise him. While he was yelling at Selakiir, a paper flew off the nightstand in the room. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher looked at the paper, it was a copy of his parents' taxes.
• Selakiir came up the stairs to try to figure out what was going on, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher continued to argue with him. Dew joined the rest of the party. While the two were arguing, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher heard pots and pans moving in the kitchen. He accused Wok, and then Selakiir of stealing and everyone went down the stairs.
• When they got to the downstairs landing they found My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's things had been dumped out on the floor. They moved on to the kitchen, where they found Wok's stuff had also been gone through. Wok stopped to check his things, and nothing was missing, but he could tell that someone had checked the makeup compact of acid, and that when they went through the items, they had set the longswords aside.
• Dew went upstairs to check on her stuff. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher went outside. Nothing was missing from Dew's items, but the longswords were set aside again. Selakiir investigated the area to check for any sign of someone else in the house, but could not find anything, even though he was very thorough.
• While he was sitting outside, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher heard a window open in the house and came back inside, but couldn't tell where the sound was from. He checked his items and noticed that the black velvet box he'd found in Moritz's room was missing, and suspected Moritz was behind everything.
• Selakiir went to check on the noise, and ended up in My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's room where he found an open window but nothing else. Selakiir used the spell Faerie Fire to reveal a large humanoid figure running away from My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's family villa.
• Selakiir yelled for everyone to follow him and jumped out the window to chase the figure. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher chased after Selakirr, under the assumption that Selakiir had been looking through his mother's things again.
• Dew followed after Selakiir and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher, and Wok followed behind her.
• Dew noticed that the outline of the person they were chasing was comparable to Wok's size and stature.
• The figure started to head toward the road to Bellmoral. Dew wildshaped into a bear, and started to gain on the figure, but they dropped a scroll and the effects of Selakiir's Faerie Fire ended.
• Dew as a bear was able to smell the figure, and could tell that they had stopped running, and that he smelled like poison.
• Wok picked up the scroll that the figure dropped, and found out that it was a used Dispel Magic scroll.
• Dew jumped on the figure and pinned them to the ground.
• Everyone stopped, and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher tackled Selakiir.
• Wok noticed that Dew's paws were on something invisible, and ran to help her.
• The figure attacked Dew. Selakiir broke away from My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher and shoved him, and ran to help Dew.
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher put all the information together and joined the party in trying to fight the invisible person.
• Wok pinned their arm with his javelin, and the person dismissed the spell hiding them.
• They were a Half-Orc man dressed in all black, carrying several weapons, and the party could see snake tattoos on his arm where Wok's javelin had torn through the fabric of his sleeve.
• He looked directly at My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher and asked "Where's the key?" and he tried to attack My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher. Dew stepped off the man, and Selakiir stabbed him.
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher cast Zone of Truth, Dew, Wok, and the man all were effected by the spell. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher asked Wok if Wok found him attractive, Wok's response was "we're doing this right now?"
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher asked the Half-Orc what he was talking about, and he told the group that the key he was after had been in a box that My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher had, and that it went to "Marillon's Sword".
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher said that he couldn't lie either and that he had no idea what the Half-Orc was talking about. He asked what the key is, who the Half-Orc is, and what his sign is.
• He answered that the key unlocks the case holding Marillon's sword in the museum, his name is Hem, and he's a Scorpio. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher asked why Hem needs the key, and if Hem thought he was attractive.
• Hem said that he needs to bring it to the society and yeah, he does find My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher attractive. Selakiir stabbed Hem again, and spat on him. Wok used his axe on Hem's leg, and asked where the society is.
• Hem answered that the society is everywhere. Wok asked what the sword is for, Hem said that they were getting rid of it. Wok asked why they were getting rid of it, Hem said it's too powerful and it can't be allowed to exist anymore. Wok asked how he knew they had the box, and Hem said that "we" saw the party take it from Mortiz's house.
• Dew dropped her Wildshape and asked what the sword does. Hem didn't know, and repeated that it's dangerous. Dew asked who told Hem to take it, he said that Germana Hilton did before she betrayed the society. Dew stabbed him and told him he wasn't helpful.
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher intimidated Hem into agreeing to take the party with him to the place where he was supposed to bring the sword. Hem said that it would be a long walk to get there. Wok asked Hem to take them to the museum to get the sword, and Hem said that he couldn't get the sword without the key.
• The party debated knocking Hem out and taking him hostage, Wok hit Hem with his axe. Hem used a spell scroll and disappeared. He reappeared 500 feet away from the party. Wok checked the scroll, it was a Dimension Door scroll.
• The party decided to return to My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's house, but before Zone of Truth wore off, he decided to ask his teammates a few questions. He asked if Dew was constantly wet outside of water. She didn't answer, Selkaiir walked away. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher asked if Wok wanted to fuck him, Wok walked away visibly flustered.
• The party took a short rest at My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's house, Wok cooked some special food for them all.
• Selakiir took a moment to reflect on the information, and tried to remember what he knew about Marillon, he came to the conclusion that Moritz was wrong about Marillon being involved in the myth of The Serpent. Selakiir recalled that Marillon is a figure that is looked up to in The Temple of Lathander, she was a Cleric that had achieved the title of Dawnbringer. Lathander is the diety of Creativity, Dawn, Renewal, Birth, Athletics, Spring, Self Respect, Perfection, Vitality, Youth, ect. He favored those who dispelled the undead and Marillon was famous for driving demons out of Fairfallen.
• Selakiir relayed the information he could remember to the party. The party tried to figure out if there was anyone who would know where Moritz had put the key. They all decided to check at the College of Lore Theatre and if they couldn't find anything there, they would check Moritz's house.
• Adara said that Moritz had come into some money recently and bought a horse from the Druids, and that he had left already. Selakiir asked about the box and the key, he told Adara that it was supposed to open the case in the musem, Adara said that Moritz dropped the key into the well by the museum before he left.
• Selakiir thanked Adara for their help, and the party returned to My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's family villa to sleep before going to the museum.

Day 9

• The party headed to the well at about 1AM, they could see a large amount of people outside the Veil Courthouse. Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher kept an eye on the crowd. Wok saw that the crowd seemed like they wanted to speak with the Baron of Veil, and noticed a purple Tiefling seemed to be trying to calm everyone down.
• Dew turned herself invisible and her and Selakiir pretended to be getting water from the well, Dew lit her drift globe and climbed down into the well. She saw several keys and metal things at the bottom of the well. She grabbed as many keys as she could see, she also found a metal figure of a red panda and some gold pieces.
• Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher watched the crowd, they all seemed upset, and a purple Tiefling was trying to keep everyone calm. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher seemed distressed, and wanted to leave.
• My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher tried to persuade Wok to leave, he said that if they don't leave the Tiefling would tell My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's mom.
• Selakiir pulled Dew up from the well, and she dismissed her invisibility. They both walked up to My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher, Dew explained her discoveries, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher urged everyone to leave. As they were talking, a few people left the crowd and headed toward the party. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher thought he saw the Tiefling glance over at the group.
• Wok asked if he knew the Tiefling and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher told the party that he does. Selakiir also started suggesting that everyone leave. While the party argued, he began to walk to the alley behind the museum. The rest of the party followed.
• Wok and Dew tried asking about My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's relation to the purple Tiefling again, Selakiir suggested the best course of action would be not to interact, he thought that being recognized would get the party into a lot of trouble.
• Wok tried to intimidate My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher, but My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher seemed more turned on than intimidated. He admitted that the purple Tiefling at the courthouse was his brother, Peichyntz. Wok asked if he was going to be a problem, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher said that he didn't think Peichyntz saw them.
• Selakiir didn't like the idea of My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's family being involved in law enforcement. Selakiir and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher started arguing, Selakiir suddenly remembered something he'd seen in My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's house that stopped him from continuing the argument.
• The party tried to sneak towards the museum, but My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher ran right into an Elf man. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher tried to flirt his way out of it but the Elf man looked disgusted by the idea, and started insulting him. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher used Vicious Mockery and did a massive amount of damage. The Elf ran away crying and bloodied.
• The party snuck around to the back of the museum, where they found two doors; one seemed to be a staff entrance, the other was a large slab that operated with a pulley system. Selakiir checked to see if there were any extra security measures around the museum, he noticed signs of there being a night guard on watch. He warned everyone and picked the lock to the staff entrance.
• Selakiir helped the party sneak through the door. They had the choice to go through a door to the right or a door in front of them. Selakiir tried to ask My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher where they should go, but he had no idea. After trying to figure out where the sword might be, they decided to split up, Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher checked the storage room, Dew and Selakiir checked the main museum.
• Dew and Selakiir decided to split up and search the top and bottom floors separately. The bottom floor of the museum was dedicated to the different spellcasting classes. They walked out into the front of the museum, which was a beasts exhibit and figured out that the night guard was somewhere else. Dew went up the stairs while Selakiir checked the rooms on the right side of the museum.
• He checked in the Cleric exhibit, and when he checked further into the displays he noticed that it was more technical than historical, and he went up the stairs to join Dew again.
•  The upstairs portion of the museum was dedicated to history, the landing was a large semicircle that split off into different rooms for each main region of Fairfallen. Dew stopped to listen and heard a door open and shut on the right side of the building.
• Dew remembered that Marillon had been famous for her work in the Sapphire Coast and checked the corresponding exhibit. Dew made sure that it was the real sword, and noticed that it was heavily magically protected. Selakiir joined her, Dew looked through the keys she had picked up from the well and was able to quickly match the correct one to the case. Dew was nervous about the situation, Selakiir suggested that they just had to try it. Dew used the key and it opened the case.
• Selakiir quickly turned away as the sword lit up with sunlight. Dew tried to lift the sword, and saw blurry visions for a second. It was too heavy for her to lift out of the case. Dew asked Selakiir to go get Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher from the storage room. 
• He saw the drift globe floating between some of the storage shelves, and found the unconscious night guard.
• Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher walked into the storage room, it was a large open two story room filled with shelves of boxes, Wok figured that they would be more likely to keep important artifacts in the upstairs part. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher started flirting with Wok again, who remained oblivious.
• Wok started to look for the sword, but got distracted by a box marked "Orcish Artifacts - Breadbowl" Wok started to try to get the box down, but was nervous about breaking it by accident. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher offered to help him in exchange for a kiss. Wok agreed, then gave him a kiss on the cheek, and they got the box down, but not without making a loud noise.
• Wok stopped to listen and heard a door open and close, and realized there was someone on the other side of the storage room. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher got ready to cast a spell if anyone came too close. Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher moved to hide between the storage shelves. Wok saw that someone had a drift globe and was walking toward them, searching the rows as they walked.
• Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher saw the night guard, he was an older, bored looking human man. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher cast Blindness on him. Wok knocked him unconscious and opened the crate of artifacts. He found a bunch of artifacts from the ancient Orc clans that had lived in the Breadbowl region before Fairfallen became a kingdom.
• The clans represented in the crate were The Rotting Eye, The White Hand, The Three Fang, The Iron Fist, who worshiped the god Gruumsh, and, The Broken Skull, The Blood Armor, who worshiped the god Bahgtru. Wok noticed that there were none from the seventh Orcish clan, The Black Claw, who worshiped Luthic; a god that stood out among the pantheon as being a goddess of healing, home and fertility.
• Selakiir met up with Wok and My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher, and asked what they'd found. Wok explained that it was a box of Orcish artifacts, and Selakiir asked why he thought the sword would be in there. Wok said that he thought that maybe there would be something to help him out in it. Selakiir explained the situation with the sword. Wok put everything back. The party left to meet back up with Dew, Selakiir stole the night guard's drift globe on the way past.
• The party walked into the Sapphire Coast Exhibit, except Selakiir. While he was standing in the Lycan's Swamp exhibit, he noticed that several plaques had the name Marillon written on them.
• Wok picked up the sword, Dew asked him if he saw visions, but he did not. Wok asked how to turn it off and the sunlight faded from the sword.
• Selakiir noticed the sound of footsteps on the floor below them.
