Session 3: Oathbreaker
General Summary
Day 7
- Around 4 AM, Selakiir decided to snoop around My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's family villa, and set off an alarm spell by opening My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher's mother's drawer. When My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher confronted him, Selakiir apologized and said that he wasn't stealing, he was just bored.
- Wok made breakfast for the party. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher wanted to grab coffee at Phaarēbouches'. While there, the barista confused My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher for another Tiefling named Peichyntz. Selakiir ordered a really fancy drink. When the drinks were done, Selakiir grabbed his and left the store. Wok burnt his tongue on hot coffee but was very brave about it.
- They made their way to the wizard dorms and encountered locked gates. Selakiir tried to pick the lock, and managed to get past the mechanical part of the lock, and was asked a riddle. Dew guessed the answer to the riddle, and the party was able to get into the Wizard Dorms.
- The group was cautious about the dorm, and tried to look to see if anyone was inside, but didn't notice anyone. Wok knocked loudly on the door, but the only person who answered was someone two units down. The door was locked, and Selakiir unlocked it, the party got the feeling that they were being watched.
- The dorm unit was tiny, and messy, all the belongings were in the middle of the floor like the dorm had been searched. Dew made sure the house was empty and Selakiir figured out that someone left the house, and then someone else came back and searched it.
- Each person searched through an area of the house. Dew went through the bathroom and saw that the owner of the dorm room had pretty generic teenage boy items including a bunch of acne creams ect. My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher searched the bedroom and found a Lute that had a circular indent in it, and some words painted over on the back. He also found a bunch of playbooks from the college of Lore dating back two years ago, signed by someone named Adara Brightriver who was credited as a wide range of characters varied by gender, age, and race. On the wall, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher found a poster that had been put up and taken down several times. Behind the poster was a hole in the wall, and a little wooden box in the hole, the box was empty, and there was a list of books underneath, the list started off with normal books and then had some titles written in a different language. At the bottom of the list was the words TS teatime by the harbor, Shadowfen.
- Wok discovered that the kitchen was pretty bare, the person who lived here couldn't afford to eat super well, and they packed up some food before they left. Wok felt sorry for the kid's lack of good food. Selakiir found two letters addressed to Moritz Tilvur that had been opened, two books on how to play the lute, one was for children, a book titled "The Undying Divine: Necromancy on the Celestial Plane."
- The party came back together, Selakiir looked at the list and was able to identify the last few books as undercommon necromancy books. Selakiir asked how the rest of the party felt about necromancy, My Stage Name is Dreamcatcher was more excited about the box. Selkaiir check insight on the box and figured that with how fancy it was, the only thing Moritz owned that had been worth anything must have been in that box. Dew stated that she wouldn't do necromancy because it was illegal and defied the laws of nature, Wok said that he prefers live things.
- Selakirr handed Dew one of the letters, it was an aggressive letter from a professor that Moritz was dropped from his conjuration 101 class, the second letter was a notice that Moritz didn't meet his scholarship requirements, and needed to pay his tuition.
- The party decided to try to speak with Professor Silverbrook to get more information about Moritz. Selakiir tried to speak with him, but got caught checking the name on the letter. Professor Silverbrook thought the party was a group of loan sharks, and told them that Moritz hadn't shown up to any of his classes recently, so they would have to serve him papers or beat him up some other time, and implied that the party wasn't the first group to come after Moritz Tilvur.
- Dew said that they just wanted to know if Moritz is okay, and Professor Silverbrook was dismissive about it. He said he had no idea. Wok tried to intimidate him, and Professor Silverbrook said to go tell whoever hired everyone that he doesn't know where Moritz was, and hasn't seen him for three months, and to tell their little friends to stop coming to his office. He locked the door behind him.
- The party decided to head to The College of Lore theatre to see if Adara Brightriver knew anything about Moritz.
