Kaida the Unyielding
Kaida the Unyielding is the leader of the Ember Inquisition, a faction dedicated to purging the Isles of dark magic and monsters. Born into a loving family in the Manzia Expanse, Kaida's life was forever changed when her father was killed in a monster attack. This tragedy sparked a burning desire within her to protect others from suffering the same fate, and she dedicated herself to the study of monster lore and combat techniques. Just under a year after that fateful day she returned to her small village for the last time, with the monster's head in tow.
After that she traveled the expanse and eventually found work in the Sun-Koku Region. At the time there was a prominent witch occupying the forests. Kaida found some like-minded peers and sought out the witch, eventually returning successful in killing the witch. Many will say that small group was the beginning of the faction, and in truth most of those who aided Kaida continued on and founded the Ember Inquisition with her.
Kaida's intense dedication and natural talent quickly made her a rising star as the founder of the Ember Inquisition, and she quickly rose gained a reputation among rangers and the forming governments of the Union. She is known for her ferocious fighting style and her ability to detect and destroy dark magic, earning her the nickname "The Unyielding" among her peers. As the leader of the Ember Inquisition, Kaida is fiercely protective of her people and will stop at nothing to rid the Isles of the forces of darkness. Some say she has become overly zealous in her pursuit of this goal, and that her methods are becoming increasingly harsh and extreme. Despite this, Kaida remains a beloved and respected figure among the Ember Inquisition, and her followers are fiercely loyal to her and her cause.
Kaida is an aasimar, with ashy gray skin and piercing golden eyes. She is tall and muscular, with long white hair that is often braided and adorned with beads and charms. She is always dressed in the distinctive red and black robes of the Ember Inquisition, and carries a flaming sword that she uses to destroy her enemies. Despite the heavy burden of leadership, Kaida remains focused and determined, driven by her desire to protect the people of the Isles from the dangers that lurk in the shadows.
