Alex moves to Australia to film for the Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief movie against the wishes of her parents due to the distance. Alex ends up having to stay with her father's Wolf Taylor estranged family and her abusive grandparents. The experience hardens her and furthers her delinquent behavior.
