Asgard
Geography
Asgard, unlike the other realms, is very small in comparison and contains only a single galaxy. The majority of planets within the galaxy are uninhabited and the main planet holds Asgard.
History
Asgard was home to both Vanir and Aesir before there was a distinction between the two. Odin caused division by killing the known creator of the universe Ymir. It was said that after her death, the blood from her body spilled out into the universe and created other realms and the Bifrost sprung from a puddle of her tears connecting the other realms.
From her body, the following realms were created: Vanaheim, Alfheim, Jötunheim, Midgard, Heven, Svartalfheim, Niflheim, Muspelheim, and Helheim.
Once these realms were created Odin went conquering the universe. This decision spilt the denizens of Asgard in half. The ones who joined Odin named themselves the Aesir, whereas those who followed Freya fled to Vanaheim and became the Vanir.
