Virat Rajput

Virat Rajput was the elder cousin of Bhupinder Rajput, the Raja of Katrapetch for most of the 31st century APC.   When Amarshiva Rajput came to the throne on 12th Doloph 3069 APC, he was childless and his sister was unmarried. At the coronation, Virat Rajput became the annointed successor according to the ancient traditions of Katrapetch, ratified by the Staff of the Raja during the mandatory ceremonial of the Confirmation of the Anointed Successor.   Since Virat was out of the direct line of patriarchal descent, was older than his deceased cousin, and was also childless this was considered an unsatisfactory line of inheritance by everybody, definitely including Virat himself. But until either Taalika Rajput was married, or Amarshiva Rajput became a father, Virat was the heir so long as he lived.   On 8th Tivith, 3070 APC, Taalika Rajput married Kieran Bolgurin, at which point Virat lost his position as heir to the throne.
