The Ruins of Quandark

The Ruins of Quandark stand on the Old Cold Canal in the realm of Talviridin. It is a particularly sinister section of the canal where the ghosts of the past seem as if here they might finally be on the point of speaking. If an archeologist were to venture into the ruins, they would surely learn something important about the vanished peoples who built it.
Something about the darkness and the moonlight, chills a watcher to the bone, though. If they were to leave the safety of the canal boat they feel they would be abandoned. And this is not just an idle fancy, because on one occasion and one occasion only, an archeologist from the Stability Council was dropped off here, with a promise that the next boat would pick him up. He was never seen again and there was no evidence he had ever been there when the next boat passed through.
