Mahryna Santess Character in The Discontinuum | World Anvil

Mahryna Santess

Mahryna Santess inhabits the Wood of Soft Tears, a spirit of moonlight and shadows, forever mourning her lost older sister Sendraya.
Sendraya drowned herself in the lake now called Sendraya's Fate, far to the north and east, at the end of a traumatic breakup following an infamously sad Dance of the Silver Tides many years ago in another age, long, long before Queen Mab came to the throne.
Mahryna vowed to take no lover of her own after the death of her sister and she very seldom speaks to any other fey or mortal, living shy and reclusive in the depths of the trees. She has a deep understanding of the patterns made by the stars and the magic that can be conjoured from moonlight and starlight, and sometimes moved to pity for the mortals that might find themselves lost attempting to follow the Path of Moss, has helped more than one of them to find their way again. Despite her fabled coldness and distance, she may in truth be amongst the most kindly disposed of the fey to those humans who enter her domain, on the rare occasions she chooses to make herself known to them.
During the Dangerous Magic Indictment, Mahryna testified as a witness in favour of her friend Tanwen and played a part in convincing the court of the guilt of Telberon.
