Ilexshale

Ilexshale is a town at the limit of navigation, where the Skeld River emerges from the Spine Mountains. River boats from as far as Tarsal Landing stop to unload and load trade goods here before returning downstream. There are roads out of town to the south and west, taking two different ways through the Spine Mountains. The southern road is the route to the Cavern City of Carafon, whilst the western route follows a pass which ultimately descends into the Silent Kingdoms following the Mortal River.

Districts

Ilexshale is a town that has contracted in recent centuries and much of it is now almost abandoned and falling into slow ruin. These districts are known as the lost suburbs. The docks at the riverside, however, are still thriving and the centre to the south is a busy nucleus for the remaining inhabitants.
