Great Circle Woods
The Great Circle Woods lie at the heart of the realm of the Fey Court where the River Shall flows south from the mountains, winding and growing via the addition of numerous tributary streams under the trees. The Shall enters the woods as a small river but emerges as a mighty one, where the palace of Shaldarenen stands on its left bank.
The Great Circle Woods are a public space used for many rituals, including the Dance of the Silver Tide and sometimes the Festival of Song which has been held on the low bare hilltops in the north of the woods.
A very few aristocratic fey live in the woods, but this is a privilege reserved for those with close connections to the court at Shaldarenen. The most notable resident of the Great Circle Woods is Churai Alen, the sculptor and patron of the performing arts. The popular contemporary folk singer Klara Shall also has a dwelling here on the banks of the river.
