Aruvan Jafraan
Aruvan Jafraan
Aruvan Jafraan was a poet who lived at the end of the 21st and beginning of the 22nd centuries APC in the early years of the age of the Four Aerial Courts. A native of Katrapetch, he was exiled to Highloft by the Raja Samiraj Azamdar in 2097 APC, after the old royal ruler married his third wife, the young beauty Jahanara Azamdar.
It was well known that Jahanara Azamdar and Aruvan Jafraan had a close personal connection and widely believed that they were in fact secret lovers, although this was never publically acknowledged by either of the parties.
To avoid any suggestion of scandal, the Raja banished the popular young poet, who spent the remainder of his life in exile in the city of Highloft.
Jafraan is best known as the author of a slim volume of poetry called, The Bloom and the Fall which he wrote in Highloft when news of the tragic death of Jahanara reached him in 2108 APC. The young Rani was outlived by her much older husband.
