Basic Information

Anatomy

They resemble big trees that have the ability to move. They move on their roots and have big branches which are used as arms. Their hands are an enclosure of small branches, nimble as fingers. They have no faces and can't communicate unless they connect telepathically to a single creature.

Genetics and Reproduction

The Treetalers were created by a ritualistic spell to assist during The Invasion Wars. As such, they can't reproduce unless it is by the same ritual that created their ancestors.

Ecology and Habitats

The Treetalers live in the forests, where they act as its protectors.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Treetalers take their nourishment from the earth using their roots.

Biological Cycle

Despite them being essentially trees, their leaves don't shed. They do however like to hibernate in large periods when the weather is cold.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Treetalers, despite their lack of eyes, can use their immediate connection to the earth below them and feel what surrounds them. As such, unless by flying or other magical meants they are impossible to surprise. They can also connect to plants around them and use them as sensors.

Naming Traditions

They usually take the name of the tree which they resemble and add a descriptive word such as Birchneedle.

There are seven Treetalers reported as alive. Each of them is protected by a Warden's Circle:

History

When the Titans fell and the invading army was wreaking havoc across Aell, the mages and the Wardens gathered together and created a ritual that would allow them to call upon the forces of nature for help.
The primal instigators were Jokaster Ermenred and Elean Taler. Their ritual was joined by a grand number of mages and Wardens which led to the trees themselves rising to fight the invaders. The losses were great and only 7 Treetalers survived despite the final victory.
The Treetalers that survived were taken in by the Wardens and serve as their guides, with the new Circles created around them. One Warden is assigned the honor of connecting with the Treetaler and use his voice to convey the ancient wisdom across the members of the Circle.

The Treetalers are under the protection of The Wardens. Each Warden Circle has a Treetaler at its center. In total only 7 Treetalers have survived the Invasion Wars.
