Talvi the Dog

The story of a four legged hero
Talvi is probably one of the most well known words, with it being an epoch and all. But it's also the name of the most well known dog in history and most likely the only dog to ever have a military rank. How come this happened you ask? Let me tell you the story, then.
One fine sunny day, Princess Adanne of Aurelia decided to go for a walk in the forest. Well on her way out of the city, the Princess realized that she was being followed by a pair of individuals. Princess Adanne turned to question her followers when they unsheathed their weapons and attacked her with the object of kidnapping her. Panicked, the Princess run onto a small path at the side of the road and into the forest, looking for shelter but got lost. Finding no help and refuge, she heard the steps nearing behind her and so the Princess braced herself for the inevitable.
The steps came closer and closer, stopping a short distance from her hiding place. It was then that a low growl from a bush behind the two men came revealing a dog, a mutt more likely who attacked both of the surprised men. After a brief struggle during which the dog emerged victorious the men realized that this was not their day and fled. The dog then touched the hem of the Princess's dress, beckoning her to follow. Through the trees and narrow paths, the Princess was led back to the city where her family and entourage was searching for her anxiously. It had been many hours since her departure and various alarms had been raised.
Princess Adanne explained what happened, adopted the dog and named him Talvi. Talvi was also given the rank of Captain among the newly created White Roses, an elite group of soldiers dedicated to protecting the Royal Family which was prompted after this happenstance.
