General Summary
The Deadpoint Drift | Vol 5 Issue 9
From the Desk of Jill Cannirunnipelt
It is with a heavy heart that the Drift announces the first lives claimed by the untamed north. Well known Adventurer No Luck Nick and avid fisher and hunter Daverink did not return from a journey to Foxspint Isle.
Remembering No Luck Nick
Nick was a man of firsts.
He was among the first true adventurers to heed the Culdarian Economic Exchange's call, arriving back in the springtime with the noble aim to support his large, mainlander family.
He was the first to plant an Airspear Origin Society wind stave. He was the first to to discover the Sombrés, thanks to being one of the first to explore Dorbard South in years. He was also with the first folk to set foot on Little Dorbard in what must be decades.
To honour this commitment to us, and to honour his memory, Deadpoint will officially recognize Nick as the first to have been awarded the title of Waterfan Sailblazer.
Remembering Daverink
While Nick spent a lot of time in the north, most locals know Daverink as a constant staple of the fishing community, having spent many quiet months assisting with the sea trade. If not for this extra help, we wouldn't be in such a position to expand our town, confer awards, or attract new talent.
He was a quiet fellow, but sure did know a lot about ooze. That was his drive in life: to find and hunt the squishy stuff. Whether or not our lands provided the ooze bounty he sought, we're sure the gods have limitless game for his longbow to pierce.
Rest in peace, friends. Deadpoint will forever be in your debt.
Memorial service to coincide with Hero's Herald
Surviving companions Karick Stahland and Mo Noodles were unfortunately unable to recover our fallen heroes' remains. We will have a ceremonial burial at sea with a full Aquan Vorwash battery salute at noon on 15 Resting Summer, during the Hero's Herald festival. Eight Adventurers will be presented with the Waterfan Sailblazer medal and gifts. Nick and Daverink's share of the prizes will be held by the CEE for any surviving family for an undisclosed period of time.
This memorial edition of The Deadpoint Drift was generously sponsored by Karick Stahland. The Drift will close Volume 5 prematurely as well, in honour of the deceased
Rewards Granted
