Duarte Price

"Duarte, Sir"

Duarte Price is a human political leader who lived during the time of the Fall of Earth. Pre-Fall, he was a revolutionary in the city of Seattle who took over several fortifications in the city and gave many disenfranchised and homeless people somewhere to live. During the Fall, he and his people defended their castle against the machine invaders during the initial wave, but were not able to win the battle of attrition against the automated threat. Duarte survived the battle, however, along with a handful of his most competent soldiers. They traveled across the United States for several months after that, collecting a large caravan of other survivors as they went.
Eventually they settled in New York City when they found a working fusion generator. They built a small settlement with hydroponics farms, prefabricated shelters, and defended it against bandits and marauders using a stockpile of military arms that they were able to find. They were eventually found by The "Scrud". Because of a personal relationship that Scrud and Duarte had as teenagers, she invited them along to participate with them in their alien colony experiment, and he accepted.
He moved his people to Nordic Frog Beach and set up Camp Nordic Frog, where he served as mayor.
