Dripstone "The Hanging City"

Sometimes referred to as the Hanging City, this impressive city in the Middledark was built by Deep Gnomes originally, but was conquered by the Drow many years ago. The city consists of massive stalactites which have been hollowed out and are used as buildings/homes/shops. These stalactites are connected by a series of multi-layered suspension bridges. Beneath Dripstone lies a lake of magma, making the city the only feasible crossing point of this cavern, which itself makes this a crossroads of the Underdark. This makes the city highly defensible, and extremely valuable. There are various stone passageways above the stalactites inside the ceilings which are almost maze-like should the city ever be sacked again - making a great escape.
Ereline Jost is the matron leader of this city, and is the one who led the original siege of The Hanging City to capture it from the Deep Gnomes that originally built it. She uses the city as a sanctuary for other Drow attempting to flee Lolthite society.
