Recall of archived emulants

As per law, emulants must regularly archive themselves. The fact that archived copies are readily available even after they have been retired could be viewed as an emulant's version of an afterlife or that they're immortal. There are various reasons why emulants are archived but the principal one is so they can be held accountable for their actions. Archived copies are communicated with via virtual reality which requires the archive to be plugged into the VR system. If an archived copy is used too many times it may eventually become corrupt, thus explaining why there are procedures put in place before an archived copy may be recalled. What follows is the uses of an archived copy:

Remembrance day
Clades have a long history originating all the way back to the end of the human age thus it is inevitable there will be an emulant who has performed something noteworthy for their clade. If this is so the clade will have a special day to commemorate this emulant according to the date in which they performed the noteworthy deed. This remembrance day is particularly useful for new emulants as they can find out more about the history of their own clade.

Product knowledge
There are emulants who are entrepreneurs and have released a product into the market. An archived copy of a retired entrepreneur would be used to help explain any complexities that may have arisen with the product that wasn't fully explained before the emulant was retired.

Career advice
New emulants may wish to recall an archived emulant who has undertaken a similar career to the one they've been assigned in order to ask for advice.

Self recollection
The mind is fickle so emulants sometimes recall an archived copy of themselves to solidify their memories of a particular event from their past. They will ask questions to the archived copy about what they were feeling, why they did what they did and whether they were happy or regret their actions. The ability to recall these archived copies are indeed a more reliable personal diary.

Trial witness
Completely eradicating crime would be impossible instead the ability to recall an archived copy of an emulant who has been a witness to a crime helps ensure witnesses are always available for a trial regardless of whether they're alive or not.
