Virtual reality is used for:

• Business meetings + interviews – having a meeting within virtual reality makes it easier to have a record of business transactions. Future meetings can also be consulted on the calendar without any difficulties.

• Controlling monetary balances – for added security all banks have their offices in virtual reality in order to prevent a bank robbery. Although a hacker could potentially steal money from a virtual reality bank this is a somewhat smaller risk than a physical bank robbery.

• Visiting monuments and museums

• Battle simulations – a cost effective way of training emulants for war as they will not be physically harmed.

• Testing an employee's loyalty to the company

• Job application forms – way of analysing a candidates reactions when placed in certain situations.

• Entertainment – emulants may choose to spend their free time in virtual reality

There are concerns that emulants may become too addicted and will spend most of their money on virtual reality experiences. Therefore there are emulants who refuse to enter a virtual world and others choose to only enter ones that are rudimentary and with low addiction potential.
