Nayuran

Nayurans are a race of giant bipeds that had their homeworld completely obliterated and population wiped out, save a handful of children who escaped, by a dangerous force long before the rise of civilisation in other worlds. They are natural wielders of a unique form of magic that seemingly doesn't play by the rules of equivalent exchange that regular magic does.

They age incredibly slowly, so even thousands of years later those children who survived are only young adults. Despite that, they have begun to continue the work of those who came before them and have begun slowly cleaning up that dangerous force alongside "Champions", non-Nayurans who have been granted a piece of their power.

Growth Rate & Stages

Given how little the known examples have changed since their earliest recorded appearance, it is assumed their lifecycle is comparable to geological time. This is further backed up by Gleam, the oldest of the remaining Nayurans, showing no signs of ageing over Spirare, who is, according to the other members of The Last Nayuran Retaliation, the youngest among them by a long way.

Social Structure

Not much is known of their original social structure, the only frame of reference are the final 7 that make up the Retaliation. They take Gleam, the oldest among them, as their leader but there doesn't appear to be a hierarchy beyond this. Selected "Champions" of the Nayurans seem to be held with equal standing to their own kind, though there are expectations for them to prioritise orders from the one who granted them their weapons.

Facial characteristics

While their appearance if generally human-like, there are some smaller differences. The most notable detail is the dark lines running from their eyes which flow along their cheeks then turn behind their hair, the purpose of these markings, or whether they even have one, is unknown. They are also notable for their striking eyes, featuring bright-coloured sclera and pupils and white irises.

They speak Interworld Basic with a formal vocabulary. They are eloquent and clear in their speech and speak to the significantly smaller races of other worlds in a gentle tone as to not intimidate them. It is generally assumed that basic is not their native language.

Common Dress Code

Nayurans (or at least what is left of them) dress in a simple colour scheme, matching their own colours. The clothing itself is usually simple, though often features patterns to break up the otherwise plain style. This clothing works alongside their size-shifting ability, shrinking and growing with them,
