Church of Lathander
When Lathander's followers gather, it is seldom in isolation. The Lights of Lathander usually work within communities, creating art, battling undead, and counselling their neighbours through the shaky first steps of their various new beginnings. Regardless of a temple's focus, Lathandrian clerics are often sought out for occasions sacred to the Morninglord, such as weddings, births, and christenings.
Temples
Due to their divine's broad and diverse portfolio, a Lathandrian church can take many forms. Some are art centres, focusing on creation and creativity in all forms. These are often run cooperatively with acolytes of Milil. A temple founded by the Order of the Aster resembles a barracks or fortress, used for respite and defence in the order's ongoing war against undeath. These garrisons provide shelter not only for their own soldiers, but for travellers, and are distinct in that they are found more commonly in the wilderness than in settlements. Lastly but perhaps most commonly, a Lathandrian temple may appear as a community centre, offering support and guidance for the community through the various kinds of rebirths and new starts that occur in life, from immigration and career changes to grief counselling and support for new parents. These buildings are recognizeable not just by the presence of Lathander's holy symbol, but by common traits of their architecture. Lathandrian temples usually feature open walls or large windows, often filled with stained glass in warm colours. These usually feature throughout the building, but are often larger on the east wall, for better viewing of the sunrise. In keeping with the Dawnlord's exuberance and focus on growth, the temples tend to be spacious and open in their design, and are always well-lit. The creativity of Lathander's portfolio, however, leads to great variety in the specific way these motifs may appear. Additionally, it means very few Lathandrian temples go undecorated. Nonvisual arts such as music and dance are often also celebrated within.Tenets of Faith
Lathander commands very little of his followers, preferring to allow them the freedom to forge their own paths. However, His stance against undead is strict, and followers who disregard it are unlikely to retain the Morninglord's favour.
Priesthood
Being a noncentralized religion, Lathander's clerics do not have a common hierarchy of titles, nor a uniform dress code. It's common for the Lights of Lathander to dress in the colours of dawn; most commonly whites, and golds, yellows, oranges, pinks, and reds. Some display their fellowship by wearing the Rose-Gold God's holy symbol, while others dress indistinguishably from non-clergy.
Granted Divine Powers
Lathander's favoured were granted the power of dawn's radiance, able to blind and burn with holy light, banish undead, and bless others with divine protection.
Sects
The Order of the Aster is a subsect of Lathander's following that focuses on his crusade against undeath. Formed mostly of paladins and fighters, these Lights are sworn to seek out and destroy the abomination of undeath wherever it arises.
