Culinary Traditions of the Orcs

The orcs of the peaks have a long standing culinary tradition that sadly has been lost to the city dwellers. Like the the goliaths, they have a deep roots as a nomadic people, though many of them have started settling down into tribes. Those tribes carry on the ancient traditions of their people. Have you ever wondered where the gods of this world wandered off to? Ask the orcs. Turns out, they used to hunt down the gods and use them to season their meals--or at least, that's what their stories say. These days, they have ritual hunts before they sit to eat in which they find the spirits of the land, which they use for the same purpose, believing that food not seasoned with the spirits of the land is unfit for a hunter to consume. These spirits are ripped from anything from rare beasts to feytouched creatures, like the Blobbers, who I believe were once actually chipmunks. Because of the length of this hunt, the orcs only eat once each week. Because of the ritual, that's all they need.

Execution

The leader of each individual tribe goes out with two orcs, no more, no less, to hunt the spirits of the wild. This leader, an orcish shaman, then prepares a ritual that allows them and their followers to see into the spirit world, and which allows the spirits to see them as well. Together, the three hunt the spirits of long dead beasts and elementals, which in this moment can do them harm. The goal is to find as great a beast as one can, and bring it back for feast. After the spirit is captured, it is infused into a vial which is later used to store various seasons, most frequently salt, which is used to season the food.
