Face Swirl

The Face Swirl is the name of a particularly derisive gesture among the Dragonkind of the Dracon Alliance. This is a non verbal reference to scarring the face tattooing that is used as a source of clan pride. It is akin to telling who you are looking at that a fate worse than death awaits them, that of banishment and dishonor to ones clan.    The action is to wave the hand in a counter-clockwise motion once with fingers splayed and the palm facing your own face while staring at the recipient of the gesture's intent. It is similar to the dragon hand sign for the seeing eye, and can cause some confusion. It is also similar to the elvish finger swirl, used to indicate that one is finds another attractive. The similarity to these other hand signs makes for a number of interesting cross-cultural mistakes. Most ending in a bit of violence, and very few in dating relationships.
