Emperor of the Grand Minam Empire

The current emperor is young and hungry to prove himself. While the court schemes to enhance their positions by marrying him off, he focuses on creating a grand legacy.
The houses of Orobul and Nemitz are focusing on the marriage angle with their daughters Briah and  Zlata respectively. While the house of Grintan seeks to marry to emperor with the neighboring gnomish princess of Rinchen Naraguk, though she is far older than Bartoz. All of this falls upon deaf ears at the moment but they continue jockeying for position if the Emperor becomes open to the idea.
The Elvish house of Cullinane proposes that the recent stability is reason enough to begin consolidation of the former empire, both to access additional resources and reclaim the Empire's glory. This is supported by the Dwarvish Clan Ko, as well as King Peteros of Eyeorit though not all his children (especially his vocal daughter Pallia and her husband Gurtost).

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

His father recently succumbed to a strange illness, and due to that is bedridden. Having conferred the empire on Bartoz before secluding himself in the North Wing of the palace with his physicians, Bartoz seeks to prove he is worthy and he suspects the illness was actually a poisoning attempt. This drives him to extreme suspicion and occasionally rash outbursts. The machinations of court infuriate him and he knows that something must be done, lest he becomes strangely ill like his father.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

While Bartoz excels at military strategy, he hates diplomacy and skullduggery. While skilled in many weapons, his favorite weapon is the Sky Lance, a magical spear that calls forth lightning on command.

Hygiene

Bordering on compulsive, his bathing and anointing himself with protective unguents is performed regularly. Keeping his hair trimmed short helps only so much as wearing hot decorative leather armor for routine actions and regular exercise leads him to bathe twice daily, or more on special occasions.
