Blue Beaked Psittacus

Like their relatives the more common parrot, they are known for their ability to mimic various forms of speech. However they are the only relative of the parrot family to be able to intelligently replicate draconic forms of speech. A rare but favorite of wizards and researchers, who hope to find a link between these creatures and sapient birdfolk.
@Sven Saradin has a few he takes with him on his travels and his home has a crafted aviary for training and raising more of them. He has been successful in training his to carry intentional messages in addition to funny and witty remarks. His current favorite is a male named Irian who has learned to sing multiple bawdy love songs. One song Sven has personally translated into draconic just to see if he could.
In the wild they seem to enjoy finding phrases that cause humanoids to move around rapidly. They will then continue to repeat these phrases repeatedly. Yelling “Fire, Fire, It’s spreading” once caused a small village to panic enough that they ran to the river even during a spring flood. It is thought that it learned it from a neighboring village that had caught fire a year previously. Others have been known to yell battle cries they have heard, general swears, or the shrill accusations of housewives. One reportedly even memorized and repeated every interchange of an illicit tryst between a pirate and his lover. His lover was the mayor’s wife and the birdhung around for several years tormenting the mayor with a live replay of the event.

Variant: Giant Psittacus Rumors of a giant variety that are the size of large dog have popped up with various pirates and others. These giant varieties forgo the nuts and insects of their smaller variants preferring meat from small to medium sized animals. They appear to have significantly sized and dangerous claws and a beak is a bit more pointed for better flesh rending.

Anatomy

Size: half the length of a human’s forearm Age: Lives up to five or six years Body: Females have blue black feathers and bright blue beaks. The Males have a more medium blue beak. Males have feathers of typically two or three colors, though which colors vary quite a lot.

Ecology and Habitats

Habitat: Areas of the @Bone coast. The Blue Beaked Psitacuss prefers to nest in hollow trees or smaller caves lined with moss or lichen
