Neutral Party, Incorporated

"They've become so depended on that we have to overlook how creepy the whole thing is."
— Cody Brecht, Human Resources Developer for Coca-Cola Country

Structure

At the top is a combination of an algorithm run and maintained by outside computer server contractors. When an issue is outside of the algorithm's understanding, the Council of Reason is involved. It is comprised of the five highest ranked members of Neutral Party, Inc. as ranked by the algorithm. From there the rest are divided into ranks in the three most prominent sections: Arbitration, Investigation, and Research of Ethics.

Public Agenda

Neutral Party, Inc. wish to provide the entire world an organization they can rely on to adjudicate equitably with no bias toward any group or individual.

Assets

The organization has a compound in the southwestern part of Ohio. They do have defenses but most of their property is computers, access to databases and libraries, housing for all members, transportation, and funds from all contracts completed with outside companies and nations. They're elusive about all their holdings, but estimates have been that they may have a couple billion dollars worth of cash and assets.

History

It became clear in 2037 that traditional diplomacy would not work for most corporate nations, in particular with dealings between them. Child of a former Silicon Valley executive, Tanner Bock thought that with the tools of technology and philosophy there could be a solution. With the help of his parents, he developed a company that utilized the familiar ethical arguments of history with an algorithm that helped devise a negotiation standard between parties in a neutral setting. Originally pitched to solve arguments between individuals, soon small companies began in. Within a decade, Bock's Neutral Party application and adjudication program was a success.
During this time, Bock evolved as a pillar of peace, and his personality changed as well. He always carried a stoic face, wore simple clothing with only neutral colors, and even dedicated himself to standing evenly of both feet. He presented himself as someone who was pleased, content and successful due to this outlook on life. A cult of personality came around him, which soon infected his company. Bock felt he was onto something. Although he kept everything incorporated, he made a proposal to those in his company, still only comprised of just over 200 employees: Let us practice the Performance of Neutrality for the good of Humanity.
In 2049, Bock and just shy of one hundred employees with their families isolated themselves in southern Ohio, but continued their practice. This is when the rituals of Bock were adopted by the entire company. Other practices were added as well, particularly the practice of how Neutralians (as all employees referred to themselves at this time) kept their faces as expressionless as possible when in public. Rumor had it that they acted normally within the confines of the compound, but emotions were kept in check when working outside of the compound.
Bock went on to devise a way to make sure his legacy of fairness would continue well after his death. First he established that Neutral Party, Inc. would become a complete meritocracy. To assure that there would be no favoritism, Bock created an algorithm that not only helped keep the traditions established within the company fairly consistent, but also rated the members of the Neutral Party, Inc. by their deeds alone. Finally, the meritocracy ranking in the algorithm would produce a council of five, since an algorithm could not alone decide in human issues according to Bock.
Now serving not only as a service but as a way of life, many disillusioned people began to flock, and the compound tripled in size with practitioners. By the time of Bock's death, the success of the business as well as the influx of people had the company cult grow in size to over 900.
Soon after, Bock's youngest daughter, Erica, tried to establish control over the algorithm over birthright. This small uprising was quickly thwarted by not only her older siblings, but the majority of the Neutralians. The method that Bock developed decades before had brought these people so much peace and stability, that the fear of having to worry outside the meritocracy was all they needed to stop this power play. It was further clarified through the algorithm that lineage will never be a factor.
Over the years, there have been rumor of satellite offices (or temples depending on how you look at them) throughout North America, but none have been confirmed.

Mythology & Lore

The basis of Neutralian belief is the idea that maintaining a neutral mediator for any conflict is necessary for ethical and peaceful resolution.

Divine Origins

Tanner Bock had devised much of this with his background in Philosophy and History from his undergraduate degree. Over the years this has been complimented with findings in Psychology and Biology to understand the human element of it all.

Cosmological Views

Neutral Party, Inc., does not refute any science about the natural order or history of the world on the whole.

Tenets of Faith

Followers must practice the Performance of Neutrality, which requires a flat affect in public outside of their compound or other Neutralian maintained spaces as well as a strict dress code and demeanor.
Followers must commit themselves at minimum of 30 each morning and evening to the practice of Honest Reflection, where they let themselves emote in front of other available Neutralians or only to themselves. Emotions are not to be shared to outsiders, and they must be released in order to help maintain even temper throughout the rest of their day.
Pure emotions and opinions are only to be shared with other Neutralians either on the compound or established safe spaces, where no bias can be determined by any outsider.
