Harvanths
Harvanths are a unique species.
Every single Harvanth is one mind split between four different beings. These four all come into the world at once, hatching from a singular egg.
Each of these beings have a singular purpose. Two of them mate and raise the children, one of them hunts, and the other gathers.
In terms of appearance, Harvanths have skin the color of desert sand and eyes looking like the sky. The Hunters are the largest, with clawed fingers, teeth, and spiky bone protrusions on their foreheads. The Gatherers have long arms and legs, with pouches on their chests and curling black horns.
Those who mate can be divided into male and female, who look nearly identical, both of them short and plump.
Together, these beings form one individual unit. When one member of the unit dies, the rest will follow suit.
No matter their gender, the skin of a Harvanths is thick and rigid, made to withstand the claws of beasts and the thorns of cacti.
Another notable detail of Harvanths is their three eyelids, evolved to withstand sandstorms.
One can find Harvanths all over the central region of the continent, in Dredak, Taylar, and Hadiya.
The Harvanths live in nomadic communities, riding on Tarkites and following the migration patterns of coyote packs. Each four-body unit will have their own Tarkite.
Coyotes consist of half of the Harvanth’s diet, with the rest being eggs, fruit from saguaro cacti, and whatever else they can hunt or gather. As one can see, the Harvanth’s live simple lives, unrestrained by what many humans would call society.
