Dwarves
Dwarves are a species of humanoids who often dwell underground. Their skin is a pale grey, and they have large tentacles on the bottom of their faces which look like beards. These tentacles are similar to those of a Star Nosed Mole in that they’re covered in touch sensors, helping the dwarves in low vision environments.
The tentacles can also create a loud clicking noise which can be used for echolocation.
Dwarves do have limited sight for their first 20 years of life, but they will slowly lose their eyesight before becoming completely blind at about 50 years old. Your average dwarf will live for 50 more years following this.
Dwarves are hermaphrodites. To reproduce, a dwarf will lay an unfertilized egg, and then another dwarf will fertilise this egg.
While a majority of dwarves live in Nzemlia, a small number live elsewhere, in places such as Diqui, Balan, and Nokotu. The dwarves who live elsewhere generally live in small underground communities, as dwarves are rarely happy when in the sun. These dwarves will occasionally trade with humans at night.
The homeland of the dwarves is in the north-west of Diqui, with some dwarves continuing to live there to this day.
