Ayonds

Ayonds are humanoid in appearance, but with the antlers and the black eyes of a deer. Their noses are small and snout-like, their skin is green, and they have hooves instead of feet. They grow from trees, appearing as fruit made of flesh in their fetal form. They gradually ripen into babies, then fall from the vine, perfectly mobile.
When an Ayond has come of age, they turn into a tree. This process starts with a seed which exists in their chest from the moment they are born. This seed will sprout, and the various parts of it will grow through the Ayonds body, eventually breaking through the skin. Eventually, it will root the Ayond in place, and consume every part of their body except for the brain. When an Ayond begins a tree, they can then produce more Ayonds.
The Ayond trees are distinct due to their texture being the same as flesh. The roots of the Ayond trees connect to each other, allowing them to communicate. Ayond trees can live for hundreds of years.
