Umaima Harara- Al-Darwish (a.k.a. Heartstring Mirage)
Biological mother of Arderia Harara, Umaima is a kindhearted and strong willed mortal human. She was devistated after her husband, Malek Harara, dissapearance and was forced to raise Arderia in the harsh desert lands of Galda signlehandedly until moving to Desert's Promise. There she took up the name "Heartstring Mirage" as the commune practice of second names and bonded with another villager, Cactus Flower .

Personal history
Umaima “Heartstring Mirage” Harara, born Umaima Al-Darwish, was raised in a temple of Sarenrae, the Dawnflower, to become a priestess. Umaima's upbringing within the temple of Sarenrae instilled in her a strong sense of discipline, compassion, and unwavering faith in the Dawnflower's ideals of redemption and justice. It was here that she met Malek, the efreeti that she would marry and leave the temple for. There marriage was a happy one and she only gives cryptic vague answers to what happened, never fully divulging why or how Malek disappeared. Whatever happened, Umaima ended up raising Arderia alone and did not return to the temple.
The two of them moved around the Galda desert as Umaima worked odd jobs. Years of traveling across the harsh Galda desert honed Umaima's resourcefulness and resilience and though she no longer was a priestess in training, she learned how to use her skills in unexpected ways (performing blessings for safe passage, exorcising minor desert spirits). This continued for most of Arderia’s childhood until they ended up at Desert’s Promise.
The communal spirit of Desert's Promise resonated with Umaima's upbringing within the temple. Here, she could utilize her healing magic and social skills to contribute to the well-being of the group. She quickly took to its people, changing her name to "Heartstring Mirage", and became very close with one of the villagers, Cactus Flower , eventually becoming lovers and partners.
Sexuality
Like her goddess, Umaima is polyamorous, even if it may not seem like it all the time to her daughter. She is attracted to all genders and different races.
Education
Heartstring Mirage is very well educated, having been raised in the temple of Sarenrae to become a priestess, even if she never fully became one. She kept her holy text, The Birth of Light and Truth, with her when she left and tuaght Arderia how to read and write from that text during times when they had little else.
Morality & Philosophy
Despite leaving the temple, Heartstring Mirage still holds onto some of Sarenrae's teachings. She prays to the Dawnflower for guidance every morning and made certain to teach her daughter the goddess’ teachings of redemption and forgiveness, no matter how resistant her “little flame” might be.

Umaima calls Arderia "Little Flame" lovingly. When Arderia isn't calling her mother "Mama", she refers to her by her given first name and refuses to use her chosen commune name "Heartstring Mirage". It is a tension point between the two at times.
