Mage Rivers, Arbane
There is a branch of rivers that run directly through a breach in the eastern part of Arbane before exiting into the coast. As a direct result, several fey freshwater creatures tend to enter the Material Plane this way. Water Nymphs are common in this region as a result, as are the occasional Rusalka, though they rarely stay near the breach long. But what gives these rivers their name is the Wizard Shackles that lurk on the banks looking for their next host. These tiny eel-like parasites find the magically inclined and possess them and force them to perform strange tasks. Though not generally evil, other intelligent creatures tend to label them as such, for they are enslaving their host after all, and the locals make a point to burn them if discovered.
