Efreets

Efreet are the fiery denizens of the Plane of Fire. Often depicted as tall, imposing figures with skin ranging from crimson to obsidian black, they embody the raw power and fury of their home plane. While commonly viewed as evil due to their fierce tempers and love of conquest, efreet society is more complex than meets the eye.
While their fiery nature can manifest as cruelty or aggression, it's not inherent evil. Efreet tempers are legendary. They can erupt into rage at perceived slights or injustices. However, this anger often cools just as quickly, replaced by a deep sense of loyalty and camaraderie towards those who have earned their trust. Efreet value strength, loyalty, and cunning. They respect those who can earn their respect through displays of power or wit.

Efreet society centers around the legendary City of Brass, a sprawling metropolis forged from molten metal and obsidian. Here, efreet vie for power and influence within a strict hierarchy. The pinnacle of efreet society is the Grand Sultan, a single ruler of immense power and fiery temper. Efreet constantly jockey for position, hoping to gain favor and potentially challenge the Sultan for dominance. Below the Sultan lies a rigid hierarchy of viziers, beys, and lesser efreet. Status is everything, and efreet constantly strive to climb the social ladder, often resorting to cunning maneuvers and displays of power.
