Ironwood Armaments
Ironwood Armaments was founded in the year 2090 by Oscar Stout-Holz, a citizen of Eldureia, the predecessor state to the Emberleaf Republic. He found reasonable success selling reliable conventional weaponry to the noble houses during Eldureia's eight-year war of succession. The company would become a military hardware giant, eventually beginning to sell to neighbouring countries. Today, Ironwood Armaments remains at the forefront of the weapons industry, having scored a number of lucrative contracts with the Northern Continental Alliance and its membered governments. Additionally, Ironwood is a popular choice with consumers, known for their sense of old-world style matched with reliability and performance. The original IWA workshop in downtown Tarbach was transformed into a museum, with the new corporate headquarters located not far away.
Culture
Ironwood Armaments is known for reliability, performance, and a classic sense of aesthetics. They often reintroduce their old, classic weapons in modern iterations and even have a museum in Tarbach dedicated to the history of weaponry and the craftsmanship behind it. Even though they have great deference for the past, the company often matches that old-fashioned sensibility with cutting-edge innovation. Famously, the world's first successful caseless ammunition firearm was the IWA Lynx, whose design was based on an old IWA revolving rifle design.
Assets
Ironwood Armaments employs 105,000 people and makes around $8.3 Billion in profit every year
History
The story of Ironwood Armaments begins with the Eldureian war of succession, wherein the company sold weapons to all the noble houses. When the war ended, Ironwood shifted towards becoming the premier arms manufacturer in the fledging Emberleaf Republic. In 2210, Ironwood's R&D Department revisited old schematics drawn up by Oscar Stout-Holz in the early 22nd century. With the application of modern technological advancements, they were able to prove Stout-Holz's theoretical design for viable caseless-ammunition. This invention would go on to open a new chapter in the history of weapons development. Ironwood Armaments' first weapon made with this new technology was the Lynx R.A.R. (Rotary Automatic Rifle), which utilised a cylindrical magazine design reminiscent of 20th century revolving rifles to dispense ammunition rapidly while protecting the ammunition from heating. In the 2224, Ironwood submitted the Gast Rifle for military trials, which uses two alternating barrels and chambers to prevent ammunition cook-off. The Gast Rifle was...rather unreliable and too mechanically complex to repair in the field, and so the Emberleaf Republic Army sent Ironwood back to the drawing board.
Ironwood's engineers realised that the problems they were having could be solved by rethinking the way firearms work entirely. The blueprints for the Gast and R.A.Rs were originally drawn up by Oscar Stout-Holz in the early 2100s, and often contained gaps in instruction and theories for problems that he could not solve with the technology at the time. But in 2227, Ironwood R&D began a project intended to develop a new type of action for firearms. By using an electrical system to ignite the ammunition propellant, Ironwood's engineers managed to create a firearm that removed the need for a traditional mechanical action. After a few adjustments to the chemical formula of the propellant and various material changes to the firearm's internal components, the engineers finally managed to solve the caseless ammunition conundrum. In 2241, Ironwood submitted the CCR (Compact Combat Rifle) for military trials--the first electronic-action caseless ammunition firearm.

Very good article! It's interesting to read about a company and it's path to fortune. Well-written and well thought-out as well! Hopefully I'll run across another article about this world at some point. It seems quite interesting!
