Vox Organum

A group of 50 high-ranking Octani priests from around the continent, referred to individually as "Speaker". This group decides who the new Vox Principalis will be should the seat fall empty. They are appointed by the new Vox Principalis upon the taking of the holy seat.

Structure

Speakers only have one official pre-requisite for selection; they must be a priest of the Octani Church. In practice, this general acceptance is rarely practiced and instead, most Speakers are chosen from the ranks of the Exarchs, and primarily Exarchs of the Haisan Golden State. Historically, Exarchs of the Haisan Golden State make up more than two-thirds of the Vox Organum, with members hailing from other regions making up a collective total of a third.
Exarchs are high-ranking spiritual and administrative members of the Octani church, vested with responsibility for coordinating efforts and practices between many temples in geographical locations called Exarchies. An Exarchy may or may not align with political boundaries, and are determined by the Vox Organum. Exarchs can only be appointed by a member of the Vox Organum, the Vox Principalis, or Grand Exarchs.
Grand Exarchs are high-ranking spiritual and administrative members of the Octani church, vested with responsibility for coordinating efforts and practices between many Exarchies in geo-political regions called Grand Exarchies. Typically, a Grand Exarchy will encompass up to a dozen Exarchies. An Grand Exarchy may or may not align with political boundaries, and is determined by the Vox Organus. Exarchs can only be appointed by a member of the Vox Organus, the Vox Principalis.
