Yevelians

Yevelians are the people of the The DCY's 15 Yevelian Tower-cities and scattered outposts. The unique culture is a blended fusion between Sarvosi and Nyoric settlers, with the two different societies intermingling in unexpected ways. Ethnically the people are predominantly Sarvosi with brown skin and dark hair, though Nyoric heritage is common along with some Yetrisi blood. Culturally there is a large split between Drukela and the mainland cities, with the former being much more Nyoric and the later being more Sarvosi. This divide is very important in Yevelian culture and it's a recent one as well because Drukela was only admitted into The DCY in the last twenty years.

Culture

Average technological level

Yevelian engineers and scientists are some of the best in the world, being at the bleeding edge of industry and spurring forth the development of new machines. In recent decades they have begun to new implement manufacturing and production technologies, which have kickstarted the industrial movement across the globe. Now they lead the world in mass-market production and the development of new machines which are revolutionizing their economy.

Common Myths and Legends

Yevelians are a relatively new cultural group, having only properly emerged 70-80 years ago with the formation of The DCY. However, the settlements on the mainland happened during the 1600s (SE) and collapsed in the 1660s with The I Sarvosi Empire. The period between these events is called The Vanished Century and is a period of Yevelian history shrouded in mystery, with highly sparse documentation. The reasons for this gap in the historical record are largely unknown, and its discussion is something of a taboo in Yevelian society, though for no known reason.
Yevelian is the term applied to the people living under The Democratic Conglomerate Of Yevela and should not be confused with the general term applied to things or places in the continent of Yevela.
