Alexandra Laban Excalibur, wife of Nigel Excalibur, falls ill after the Calamity and is nearly comatose. Nigel employs a series of doctors and spends an extreme amount of money on her recovery. Eventually, a physician offers her recovery at the price of funding his enterprise, Spiral Pharmaceuticals. Nigel agrees, and Alexandra is cured through experimental, progressive medicines (though she retains a melancholy for the rest of her life). The striking of the bargain is witnessed in a vision by Eugenia Excalibur, Nigel's descendent, during her ride on the Undone Subway.

Life, Failure / MishapSeeking to protect the little stores they had of the precious resource, the Kissas entrust one of the remaining bottles of holy sap to Karina von Hattersburg (later known as Naga/Nadia), who's store at the time occupies the same space as the future Lestrange Antiques. This event is witnessed through a vision by Kitsune Marshall as they travelled on the Undone Subway.

They did not encounter any visions at this station, but they were picked up by a subway car that carried them to other stations and further mysteries. Fiona Burke falls ill
Life, Trauma/ LossFiona Burke, employee with BluStone Manufacturing, begins a new project at her employer and begins to fall ill. Her fellow coworkers on the project, including neighbor Marcella 'Nona' Benotti, all experience similar symptoms to varying degrees. No medical solution is found, and Fiona suffers for the next decade and a half with the mysterious illness before finally succumbing. The first major signs of her illness were witnessed by Francis Burke, her son, in a vision he received while travelling the Undone Subway.

In a final moment, Krys warns them both to 'follow the right Dee', and to not trust Miranda 'Flicker' Geiss.
