The Marquest Accords
The Marquest Accords are a treaty binding several kingdoms on the continent of Marquest together in times of need. Theses kingdoms of different races shared similar values and ideals first signed the treaty long ago. There have been several iterations of the Marquest Accords throughout the ages. After each signing centuries pass and the Accords are forgotten but never have any of the of the allied kingdoms come into open conflict.
Purpose
The Marquest Accords were drafted as a peace agreement between several race and nations on the continent of Marquest. This treaty dictates that if one of the allied kingdoms need help the others come to their aid. Whether the aid is in defense of a kingdom, food supplies do to a poor harvest or relief efforts after a natural disaster these kingdoms have declared they will stand together.

Caveats
Each time the Accords have been ratified the length of the treaty has been six hundred years. This is mainly do the elves belief that the shorter lived races fail to honor the word or signature given by ancestors they never knew.
Legal status
The Marquest Accords have been ratified on multiple occasions making the Accords legal in all allied kingdoms.
Historical Details
Background
The Marquest Accords were originally draft as the city states of The Dark Plains sought to expand the borders of the region and were crossing the borders into elvin territory. At the same time the country of Grimzelmord was attempting to expand its borders in a different elvin nation. As these situations escalated the elves that would normally offer aid to each other found themselves fight separate wars with no aid.
Public Reaction
The general public have always believed in the principals of the Marquest Accords feeling that is better to share a table as a friend than a battlefield as an enemy.
