Flight

Traith was once a technology advanced planet the hub of a system wide human civilization. They were capable of traveling the system with relative ease but weren't able to travel out into the greater cosmos. This civilization fell after being invaded by a more advanced alien species. As a last act to try to save themselves they detonated a device that proved to be more catastrophic than thought and nearly wiped all life in the system. The last remaining humans sought refuge by moving beneath the surface of Traith. With no technology their numbers dwindled even more.

Utility

Flight was used for countless endeavors both planet side and out with the solar system.

There were many forms of flight available to the ancients of the Technological Revolution with many of the advancements being contributed from the private sector of business.

Complexity

Depending on which variation of flight you wish to talk about determines the level of complexity required to make it happen. The level of tech required to make J.P.S. (Jet Propulsion System) airship of infancy of flight compared to the complexity of a S.P.D (System Propulsion Drive) is a difference of one hundred fifty years of technology advancements.

Discovery

In the times before the Rebirth thousands of years prior to the First Age the ancients saw a period technologic advancement. Over the course of two centuries they saw the evolution of flight. It all it started with an ornithologist theorizing mans ability to obtain flight by imitating avian species. He and a few of his colleagues designed and built the first glider capable of carrying a human during flight. His theory proven correct and the first human to obtain flight was recorded the scientific community was abuzz. The possibilities and applications were soon realized and the field of aviation literally took off. it was during the initial sprint that and even older theory was proven correct and hot air balloons developed. The scholars were the only ones watching the growing science with interest many of the worlds governments were now watching or scrambling to hire their own scientists to develop aircraft for their countries. within five years of mans first flight Traith saw another first. The first successful powered aircraft flight and it came from the private sector. As it turns out some wealthy corporations were investing heavily in the rapidly expanding field of aviation. The race was on advancements happened in bursts and as the field of aviation expanded some did other fields research. It was a technological revolution humans were able to travel for business trips, or taking holidays people were free to move about the planet. A mere forty years after the first flight of man their ability to escape the bindings became realized when the first satellite was launched into orbit above Traith.
